A new production of one of opera's most popular comedies, L'Elisir D'Amore (The Elixir of Love) by Gaetano Donizetti (in ITALIAN). Set in a small village in the Basque Country at the end of the 18th century, it tells the story of a magic love potion and the destiny of a love triangle involving a lovable bumpkin, a dashing sergeant and the bewitching town flirt. Young Italian country boy Nemorino cannot summon enough savoir-faire to please well-to-do young farm owner Adina. She is very much in love with him but annoyed by his lack of self-assurance and uses Belcore, a sergeant stationed in the village, to provoke him. Everything is further complicated by the appearance of a “doctor,” who sees in the romantic entanglement an additional chance to make some fast money in the village. After his arrival, an amazing number of situations reverse themselves. Is it really the result of the potion purveyor’s “elixir of love?”All Operas are accompanied by full orchestra and English subtitles.

Explores a Complex Friendship Between Islamic and Jewish Worlds
As the son of the Imam of the local Brooklyn mosque, 11-year-old Daud has to juggle the high expectations of his father and his feelings of isolation and difference. Through an innocent act of good faith, Daud befriends a group of Jewish boys who mistake him as a fellow classmate at their orthodox school, in the neighboring Jewish community. A genuine friendship grows between Daud and Yoav, one of the Jewish boys, and his family. Unable to resist the joy of a camaraderie that he has never felt before, David, as he is known to the kids, is drawn into a complicated dilemma inspired by youthful deceit and the best of intentions.
