Luis Chataing "TODO GIRA"
Friday, January 30, 2015 at 8:00 PM
$55 VIP, $35

@LUIS CHATAING
     Todavía nadie ha demostrado ser tan rápido al lado de Luis Chataing. Cuando alguien cree que lo tiene cercado, él ya encontró la rendija para seguir su camino. Muchos se paran a descansar, él no. Por eso nadie es tan rápido.

     En junio de 2014 el gobierno de Nicolás Maduro presionó a Televen, el canal de televisión donde Chataing tenía su late night show, para cerrar el programa. Antes de que terminara el año y mientras el presidente venezolano se hundía velozmente en las encuestas, Chataing ya había salido de gira teatral, estrenaba en salas de cine de todo el país un documental y comandaba al equipo que hizo un libro, todo para dar su versión sobre la salida del aire de su show. Cuando creían que lo habían silenciado, él dijo la última palabra.

     Luis Eduardo Chataing Zambrano (8 de abril de 1967) es locutor, productor, animador, entrevistador, escritor, padre de dos hijos y dos perros, y descendiente de arquitectos de renombre que han construido emblemas caraqueños. Es, también, creador de una manera de hacer humor que le precede y que no le hace gracia a los poderosos.

My Heart in a Suitcase
Presented by Miramar Cultural Center
Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM
$15

Anne Lehmann and her family no longer feel safe in their Berlin home. Life in Germany is deteriorating quickly for the Lehmanns and all Jews in Germany; in order to protect their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lehmann may have to say goodbye to her forever. Now Anne must struggle to bring meaning out of despair, to cling to love and hope even in a world that seems to be filled with hatred and violence.

The result is a gripping and poignant production, a tribute to the strength of the human spirit. ArtsPower hopes to touch the hearts and minds of old and young alike by adapting a survivor’s story, to inspire audiences to read and learn more about the Holocaust by weaving an emotional bond through art.

As they show young people what happened in Germany and in other occupied nations prior to and during World War II – and how a heroine survived thanks to her own courage and the generosity of others.  The ultimate goal is to motivate children not only to appreciate reading and the theatre but also to love and respect all their fellow human beings.
