1. What is included in the rental price for the facility?

Your 8 hour rental includes our 72-inch round tables which seat up to 10 guests per table, our supply of 36-inch circular tables (which come as both high boys and low boys), the accompanying padded chairs, and a portable dance floor, which opens to a maximum total size of 28 feet by 28 feet.

If you opt to rent multiple halls, you will get access to the Ansin Family Art Gallery for no extra charge. On top of this, the fee includes services regarding general oversight of any activities that are related to the banquet hall; for example, we can provide kitchen-related services, service at the bar, and things like that. An official staff member who works for the Miramar Cultural Center will always be on hand.

2. How long is a standard rental?

You can rent the hall for a total of 8 hours at a time. Your 8 hour rental includes decorating, your actual event and the breakdown. All items must be removed by the conclusion of your rental.

If approved, additional event or breakdown hours may be purchased at an additional cost.

3. How late can the events last?

Facility rentals must end by 2 a.m. Keep in mind, the actual event can end no later than 1 a.m. to allow breakdown time to be completed by 2 a.m.

4. Is it legal to charge admission?

You can charge admission to your event, however, ticket sales must utilize the Miramar Cultural Center box office. Additional fees may apply.

5. Does the Miramar Cultural Center provide decorators?

The Cultural Center does not provide in-house decorative resources, however, we can supply you with a list of vendors.

6. Can the art gallery also be rented?

While we cannot guarantee that artwork will be on display during your rental, you do get access to the Ansin Family Art Gallery with the rental of 2 or more halls.

7. Will security be present at all events?

A Security guard is required in the art gallery. The client will assume all costs for that service for the duration of their event.

8. Can the Miramar Cultural Center supply chair covers and tablecloths?

We do not offer either chair covers or tablecloths. They can be rented for an additional fee.

9. Do you offer a limo, a photographer, or a DJ?

We do not offer these services for any event, these will need to be contracted with an outside vendor.

10. Can various items be stored at the Miramar Cultural Center on either side of an event?

No, we do not allow items to be left in the halls or the gallery. All items must be brought in, set up, and removed during the 8 hours for which the hall has been rented.

11. Does the Miramar Cultural Center offer valet parking?

No, we do not provide Valet service.

12. Do you offer free parking?

Yes, standard parking in the lot and/or parking garage is free.

13. Does each client need liability insurance?

Yes, it is imperative that each renter has liability insurance in place before the event. Insurance must be provided 30 days before the rental, or it will be cancelled. A $2 million liability policy is required, and the City of Miramar must be listed as additional insured and certificate holder. We offer an online service which can be accessed at the OneBeacon Entertainment Insurance Products website and our code is 0049-008.

If you decide that you will not provide insurance, you will be charged a $400 flat fee, which must be paid 30 days before the event. It your event goes to midnight, a 2 day policy will be required. Visit the OneBeacon Entertainment website.

14. How can I contact the lost and found?

To get in touch with the lost and found department regarding any items that you may have lost at the Miramar Cultural Center, call 954-602-4540.

15. What are the alcohol requirements?

A liquor license for the Miramar Cultural Center is owned by the City of Miramar, so it is illegal for anyone other than our employees to give out alcohol at any events. We can provide you with many different options that are listed on the bar menu. It is also illegal for guests or renters to bring outside alcohol into the building. An hour before the event is scheduled to end, alcohol will stop being served. All of this is done to comply with Florida State Statute 561.42.

Serving alcohol to the public requires a liquor license and the City of Miramar will offer the bartending services.

16. Can I cancel my event?

Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations made 180 days or more prior to the rental, will receive a refund, minus the initial deposit. There are no refunds for any cancellations made less than 180 days in advance. However, the money may be reapplied to fund a different rental within the next year, based on availability of the facility.
