About the Campion Dance Society Dance Ensemble
The CDS Dance Ensemble is Jamaica’s leading youth dance company, founded in 2010 by Artistic Director Dwright Wright and emerging out of Campion College. Since its inception, CDS has grown into a premier training ground and feeder company for the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica (NDTC), with over half of its senior ensemble members now also performing with the NDTC and other professional companies across the island.
With a reputation for strong technique, creative innovation, and powerful storytelling through movement, CDS has redefined youth dance in Jamaica. The company has performed internationally in Denmark, New York City, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale, while at home in Kingston, their annual Season of Dance consistently plays to sold-out audiences.
